What Centerless Grinders Do (Two Core Functions)

1. Thrufeed Grinding (Through Grinding)

This continuous process is highly efficient for long, straight workpieces, such as bars or tubes, which pass entirely between the grinding and regulating wheels.

2. Infeed Grinding (Plunge Grinding)

Required for components with shoulders, tapers, or complex profiles. The workpiece is positioned and ground in place until the required dimension is met. Automated loading equipment is often paired with this process to maximize productivity.
